Board of Directors

Joining the Spruce Foundation’s Board of Directors provides an opportunity to enhance leadership skills while cultivating philanthropy. The board is made up of our Communications, Development, Events, Grants, and Strategic Operations Committees, with oversight and direction from our Executive Committee. These committees run everything the organization does, from social media and event management to fundraising and grant-making. Applications for our Board of Directors go live each year in the summer.

Spruce Council

Spruce Council is a community of volunteers who want to support the Spruce Foundation’s mission without the time commitment of board membership. It’s a great opportunity for young professionals to grow their network, contribute their skills to a meaningful cause, and learn more about philanthropy, nonprofit governance, and board service. Council members serve as a flexible resource for the Foundation, supporting the board and its committees with ad hoc projects, event volunteering, outreach, and other needs as they arise.

To be a part of Spruce Council, members must make a personally meaningful monetary donation to the Spruce Foundation, attend at least two Spruce events, and work on at least one Spruce project based on committee needs over the course of the board year (from August to July). The interest for for Spruce Council is open year-round.

Support Spruce as a Sponsor

Sponsorship opportunities are available for Spruce Foundation events and initiatives throughout the year as a way to invest in our mission of cultivating young philanthropy in support of children in Philadelphia. Contributions from companies and/or organizations connect newcomers and help us leverage each dollar in support of local youth-serving nonprofits. Email our Development Committee for ways to connect with Spruce as a sponsor.
