Meet Brianna Westbrooks, member of our Strategic Operations and DEI committees, a fan of Philadelphia icons Patti LaBelle and Green Line Cafe who would describe Philadelphia in three words as diverse, gritty, and proud.
What’s your favorite part about living in or near Philly?
The restaurant scene in Philadelphia is amazing!
Who’s your favorite Philly icon, alive or dead?
What’s a little-known fact about yourself?
I am obsessed with HGTV and shows about real estate.
What’s your go-to coffee shop in Philly? And why?
The Green Line Cafe in West Philadelphia. The vibes are chill.
Which Philly cheesesteak spot is actually the best?
What three words would you use to describe Philadelphia to someone not from here?
Diverse, gritty, proud
How long have you been involved with the Spruce Foundation? And why did you decide to get involved?
I have been involved since last year. Not only did I want to gain some board experience, but I also wanted to learn more about how smaller and on-the-ground community groups operate.
What is your committee (or ad-hoc committee) working on right now that you’re most excited about?
I am on the Strategic Operations committee, and I really enjoy that we look at Spruce from a holistic perspective; we make sure that everything we do truly meets our mission, and I love it!
What has been your favorite event, initiative, or accomplishment while you’ve been at Spruce?
I enjoyed SpruceCo HomeCo; it was great to have an in-person, outdoor event that enabled Spruce Council, Spruce Board, and board alumni to casually connect.
The Spruce Foundation is managed by an all-volunteer group of rising stars in Philadelphia’s professional community who are dedicated to leveraging their skills to build a promising future for local youth. Learn more about the Spruce Foundation and who we are »
