On Wednesday, February 2, 2022, Campbell’s Soup Company’s Chef Gerald Drummond joined us for a virtual cooking event to raise money in support of Spruce’s mission to provide grants to youth-serving nonprofits.
The event kicked off with remarks from 2021 grantee The Evoluer House, an organization guiding girls in Philadelphia to bold and bright futures. Cheryl Ann Wadlington, CEO of The Evoluer House, shared the impact that Spruce’s grant has had on the organization and how they’ve continued their mission to deliver award-winning empowerment programs to young girls and women.
Chef Gerald then took over from Campbell’s new state-of-the-art innovation kitchen to show attendees how to make three courses starting with a deconstructed green bean casserole, followed by cauliflower smoked bacon ravioli, and ending with pan-roasted chicken breast. Along the way, he offered tips and tricks for newbies in the kitchen to get these recipes just right.

We’re so thankful to Chef Gerald for joining us to offer this amazing virtual cooking class. Check out the finished products from Chef Gerald and some our attendees:
