Looking for a New Way to Give Back this Fall?

We pulled together a list of local volunteer opportunities that align perfectly with Spruce’s core mission—to support Philadelphia youth. Help us make Philadelphia a better place for children to live & grow by checking out the below.

Arts:

The Village of Arts and Humanities: Village Arts’ mission is to amplify the voices and aspirations of the community by providing opportunities for artistic expression and personal success that engage youth and their families, revitalize physical space and preserve black heritage. Education:

Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University: Volunteers have been integral to the success of the Academy for 200 years. Dedicated volunteers are needed to assist children and visitors throughout the museum’s exhibit spaces and provide critical support behind the scenes in research developments and offices. To learn more about becoming a volunteer at the Academy, please contact 215-299-1029 or volunteers@ansp.org

Health & Wellness:

Give Kids Sight Day: Give Kids Sight Day is a day of free vision screenings and eyeglasses for children 17 years old and younger who do not have access to an eye care provider or who have failed a recent vision exam. Volunteers are needed onsite to help with registration, language interpretation, data entry, and more. This year’s event will take place on Saturday, October 5th at Jefferson Alumni Hall 1020 Locust Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107. To sign up, click here.
